Warranty

Double Down Sàrl grants you a standard thirty-six (36) month warranty on your Blackout Watches timepiece from the date of purchase, under the conditions defined in this warranty. The Blackout Watches International Warranty covers material and manufacturing defects existing at the time of delivery of the Blackout Watches timepiece. This warranty is only valid if the warranty certificate is dated, fully and correctly completed, and stamped by an official Blackout Watches store.

During the warranty period, and upon presentation of a valid warranty certificate, you are entitled to have any defect repaired free of charge. If normal conditions of use cannot be restored through repair, Double Down Sàrl commits to replacing the watch with an identical or similar Blackout Watches model. The warranty for the replacement watch expires thirty-six (36) months after the date of purchase of the replaced watch.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and aging (e.g., scratches on the crystal, color and/or material changes of non-metallic straps and bracelets such as leather, textile, rubber; peeling of plating).
  • Damage to any part of the watch resulting from improper or abusive use, lack of care, negligence, accidents (impacts, dents, crushing, broken crystal, etc.), incorrect use of the watch, or failure to follow the instructions provided by Double Down Sàrl.
  • Indirect or consequential damages of any kind resulting from the use, non-functioning, defects, or lack of accuracy of the Blackout Watches timepiece.
  • Watches handled by unauthorized persons (e.g., for battery replacement, servicing, or repairs) or whose original condition has been altered outside of Double Down Sàrl’s control.
  • Battery lifespan (if applicable to the movement).
  • Any other claims against Double Down Sàrl for damages beyond those expressly defined in this warranty, except for mandatory legal rights that the buyer may assert against the manufacturer.

Precautionary and Preventive Measures

Water Resistance

  • Never activate the crown or pushers when the watch is submerged in water, and always ensure the crown is fully pushed in or screwed down after each adjustment.
  • Never open your watch yourself; always have it inspected by a Blackout Concept Service Center.

Temperature

  • Avoid exposing your watch to sudden temperature changes (e.g., direct sunlight followed by immersion in cold water) or to extreme temperatures (above 60°C / 140°F or below 0°C / 32°F).

Magnetic Fields

  • Do not expose your watch to strong magnetic fields, such as those emitted by speakers, mobile phones, computers, refrigerators, or other electromagnetic devices.

Shocks

  • Avoid thermal or physical shocks, as they could damage your watch. In case of a strong impact, have your watch checked by an authorized dealer or a Blackout Watches store.

Water Resistance Limitations

  • The water resistance of watches is tested in laboratory conditions under static pressure, which corresponds to a swimmer or diver in a motionless position at the specified depth. However, many aquatic activities involve significant movements and environmental changes. These factors can challenge or even nullify a watch’s water resistance.
  • Water resistance cannot be guaranteed indefinitely. It may be affected by aging of seals or accidental impacts on the crown.

Servicing and Maintenance

Like any high-precision instrument, a watch must be periodically serviced to ensure optimal performance. As a general rule, we recommend having your watch checked every 3 to 4 years at your Blackout Watches store. However, depending on the climate and usage conditions, this interval may be shorter.

For optimal maintenance service and to preserve the validity of your warranty, always contact an authorized dealeror a Blackout Watches store.
