THE HYBRID TOURBILLON
Our approach. Our signature.
An exceptional complication, made accessible through a unique method: the masterful combination of an Asian-inspired movement base and key components custom-developed in Switzerland. All of this is, of course, enhanced by the traditional craftsmanship of our Geneva-based watchmakers.
The hybrid principle
One method. Three steps.
Step 01 — A Basic Asian Movement
The tourbillon is one of the rarest and most expensive complications in watchmaking. We start with a movement produced in Asia, which makes this mechanism technically accessible. This is our starting point, not our destination.
Step 02 — Reliability work in Geneva
Each movement is dismantled, inspected piece by piece, and made reliable in our Geneva workshops. Critical components (crown wheels, mainspring, cannon pinion) are custom-produced in Switzerland and replace the original parts. This is what transforms a base into an exceptional piece.
Step 03 — A Blackout Signature Assembly
The timepiece is then assembled, tested and finished in Geneva according to our standards. Each watch passes through the hands of our watchmakers before being delivered. Each piece bears the signature of our workshop.
A proof, not a strategy.
“If you know how to make Swiss Made, why don’t you do it consistently?”
The answer is simple. Our watchmakers have the technical expertise for Swiss Made, and we’ve proven it.
In 2026, we launched the XP1 Ultimate, featuring an in-house movement, with over 80% of its value produced in Switzerland.
But this piece was not the future of Blackout. It was a statement. Proof for those who doubted our expertise.
Swiss Made comes at a price. And that price puts the tourbillon back where it has always been: out of reach for most people. Yet our purpose is exactly the opposite.
We remain hybrid by choice. Not by default.
OUR WATCHMAKERS: Certifications and a Vision
Our master watchmaker David, whom you see in the video opposite, former Rolex, Patek Philippe employee, among others. Now head of our Geneva workshop, he is certified by 26 high-end watch brands.
David is not just a technician; he is the guarantor of Blackout's rigor. It is his team that inspects each movement, supervises the production of custom Swiss components, and assembles each piece.
Without him, the Blackout project would not exist as it does today.
Why we do this.
The tourbillon is one of the most beautiful complications in watchmaking. For decades, it was reserved for an elite: watches costing €30,000, €80,000, €150,000.
Our belief: a watch enthusiast who understands its beauty should be able to access it. Not by simulating luxury, but by rethinking the manufacturing process.
This is what we have been doing since we took over the house in 2022.
