Romain Monti

In motorsports, you’re already behind by the time you’re twelve. By fourteen, it’s a done deal. Romain Monti made his circuit racing debut while his future rivals already had a decade of karting under their belts.

In motorsports, numbers are everything; in this discipline, talent alone is rarely enough. Every season comes at a price, and you have to pay it before you can get behind the wheel.
Romain didn’t have that kind of budget. Nor did he intend to stop there.

So he did what people do when they’re faced with a closed door: he broke through another one. In 2018, he picked up a camera and opened up the paddock to the general public: the practice sessions, the briefings, the endurance race nights, the waiting, the exhaustion: the things no one ever films. He tells the story of motorsports from the inside, unfiltered and without a press office.

Eight years later, his channel is one of the most-followed voices in French-language motorsports, with a community of several hundred thousand enthusiasts. And this community did what no sponsor had ever done: it made the seasons possible. Sponsors came to him because he had built something, not because he had asked for anything.
As for the driver, he has never stopped improving. He won two titles in 2015: the Maserati Trofeo World Championship and the French Junior GT Championship. Then, in 2018, he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Spa, winning the Silver Cup as the only French driver to take the podium that year. Even today, he’s still racing and winning, and we’re hoping for the Alpine Cup title this season with Blackout Watches as the car’s sponsor.

When we met Romain, it didn’t take long. We talked about tenacity, about building for yourself what no one gives you, and about what it takes to hold your own in a world that wasn’t waiting for you. That’s our story, too.
